Making HEY your default email program

Download and install our mobile and desktop apps, then follow the steps below for your operating system:

Mac OS

1. Open the Mail app
2. From the Mail menu in the menu bar, choose Settings (or Preferences)*
3. Click General
4. Choose HEY from the Default email reader pop-up menu

Windows

1. In Windows, select Start and type Default apps
2. Select Default apps from the suggestions
3. Under Email, select HEY

iOS

1. Go to Settings and scroll down until you find HEY
2. Tap HEY, then tap Default Mail App
3. Select HEY to set it as the default

Android

1. Open Settings
2. Go to Apps
3. Find your current default email app and tap on it
4. Scroll down and tap on Open by default
5. Tap Clear default preferences
6. Next time you're prompted to open an email, Android will ask you to set your default email app. Select HEY to set it as the default
