How do I delete a contact?
Instead of deleting a contact, you have the option to hide them. To do that:
- Head over to https://app.hey.com/contacts and click on the contact.
- Click "Edit Contact" in the upper right corner of the contact page.
- Click "Hide This Contact" at the bottom of that page.
Why hide? Deletions ran into some trouble around what happens if a deleted contact sends you a new email, like what happens if you try to merge that contact then, etc... We decided to match up what other email apps were doing and hide contacts rather than delete them.
Restore the contact
To restore a contact, create a new contact with the same address. You'll then be prompted to unhide the existing version.
