Why are these notifications going to my Imbox instead of the Feed or Paper Trail?

You may notice that email notifications from services and apps (like Basecamp, Github, etc...) are popping into your Imbox instead of the Paper Trail or the Feed. This is likely because these emails are replies to a previous notification, or have an in-reply-to or reference header. Since the emails are formatted as replies and HEY does not want you to miss any replies, they'll automatically get sent to the Imbox.
